Utilities Recognized by Peers for Exceptional Project Management
The Metering/Smartgrid Awards Program, and the annual Utility CIS Awards Program, received entries from – and is judged by - utilities based in The United States, Canada, Australia, Europe, Asia and Africa.
2010 Winning utilities are as follows:
Pacific Gas & Electric (PG&E): Advanced Metering Initiative - North American Investor Owned Utility
Toronto Hydro: Advanced Metering Initiative - North American Muni or Cooperative
Southern California Edison (SCE): Demand Response Initiative
Winners for each category were determined by a panel of utility judges who scored entries on project innovation, project benefits, project management, and application quality. Winners were honored at the 4th annual closed-door gathering of The Smartgrid/AMI Utility Peer Group members, which was hosted in spring 2010 by San Diego Gas and Electric.
About The Annual Metering/Smartgrid and CIS Awards Program
An integral part of The Smartgrid/AMI Utility Peer Group, The Annual Metering/Smartgrid Awards and Utility CIS Awards programs were launched in 2003 to recognize utilities worldwide for excellence in advanced metering, smartgrid and billing initiatives. Winners are determined by a panel of utility peers representing utilities of all kinds from every corner of the globe.
The 2011 program will be open for entries in Summer 2011.

2009/2010 winners were recognized in San Diego. 2008 winners were recognized at our annual utilities-only gathering at Southern California Edison offices in May. 2007 winners were honored in Reno prior to the opening of Autovation 2007. 2006 winners were invited to, and formally recognized at, an awards event prior to Autovation in October 2006 in Nashville. 2005 winners were honored in Las Vegas. 2004 winners were honored in Miami Beach.
